    Purva karma <\/u>(Preparation of the patient before pradhana karma)\u00a0 \u00a0<\/h5>
    a) deepan and pachan \u2013 It increases jatharaagni (digestive power) and brings lightness in the body. Herbs use e.g. chitrakadi vati; Trikatu churna, etc.<\/h5>

    b) Snehapan – Medicated or non-medicated ghee is administered for 3 to 7 days depending upon the requirement of the patient, till observes the proper sign and symptoms of Snehan.<\/h5>

    Proper <\/u>Snehapan <\/u><\/h5>
    Proper movement of\u00a0vata\u00a0downwards, Increased digestive power, Lubricated faeces which are soft and not well formed, Softness and Oleation of body.<\/h5>
    c) Abhyanga (external Oleation) and Swedan \u2013<\/h5>
    After performing internal Snehan the patient undergoes massage with herbal oil followed by Swedan of the whole body.
    Along with these there is a proper diet regime that must be followed. Usually it is advised to take good amount of liquid and warm food that is easily digestible.     Pradhana Karma<\/u>–<\/h5>
    In the early morning, the patient is made sure that he has slept well the previous night and that his previous food is well digested. The patient is made to sit in a comfortable vaman chair. Keeps the record of the pulse and blood pressure before, after and during the vaman karma. The aged, debilitated should be made to drink milk, sugarcane juice added with honey, saindhava salt, appropriate to the disease to their maximum capacity. Determining the nature of his bowel the emetic drug is administered, while the emesis is in process. The physician should administer a dose of the decoction of the fruit of madanphala along with honey rock salt Phanta and a powder of madhuka. After consuming the medicine wait for one muhurta 48 min for the commencement of vomiting. At the time of vomiting, <\/em><\/strong>forehead and chest are held and the umbilical region is pressed with a gentle upward massage on the back.<\/h5>

    The indications which characterize the perfect and satisfactory action of an emetic remedy are the free emission of Pitta after that of Kapha, light and pleasing sensation in the heart, the throat, and the head, a lightness of the body, and the complete cessation of the emission of Kapha (mucus).<\/h5>
    Pashat Karma<\/u>–<\/h5>
    The patient is under observation till he\/she achieves the strength. After vomiting get stop then gives dhumapan.
